Viburnum Tinus is usually high on the list of gardeners’ favourite garden shrubs. It’s wonderful foliage and fragrant pink-white flowers are guaranteed to brighten up any garden over the winter months – and it’s great for using in flower arrangements too. That’s why it’s our plant of the month!
This beautiful plant is a dense, evergreen shrub with dark and oval glossy leaves which contrast amazingly with its soft star-shaped blooms. Soon after the flowers fade, Viburnum Tinus produces dark black berries with a mesmerising metallic hue. It will grow almost anywhere in a garden, but does prefer fertile and well-drained soil.
Low maintenance, the plant doesn’t require pruning, and cuttings can be taken in summer, if you wish to propagate it.
