Perfect timing
Dahlias won’t survive a frost as they are tender tubers. So early spring is the perfect time to plant them!
Dahlias grow best in a fertile, well-drained soil type and thrive in most sunny place, but a sheltered position is ideal.
You can plant Dahlia bulbs in the ground or in pots. Be sure to make sure the soil is moist. Dahlias are thirsty plants, so when in pots, water them frequently – every day during a drought. And when in the ground in a drought, water them once a week with a good flood of water, no gentle sprinkles!
